I've applied and my references have been received so its looking like I may possibly be working at PGL but I wanted to hear from people who have worked for PGL/know people who worked for PGL. How was it? What's it like? Share your stories!

Hey, I'm in the same position as you, waiting to hear from them, well actually I'm waiting for the rest of my references to get in touch- they're being really slow . Hope I get a job there though this summer it looks good. Where are you thinking of working? In the UK or abroad?

It's an awesome experience, it took a while for me to get my contract through last year coz they sort out all the returners applications first so just keep pestering them. you'll do a training course, possibly the best 12 days of your life and then move on to your centre. what centres have you guys picked? me and my twin sis both worked at marchants hill and were both goin back next season. I'm there just for the summer months and my sis who posted the original post is there from about april or so and going to whitecliff bay also. It's a rewarding job, although hard work at times and you do need lots of energy and enthusiasm. The social side is awesome and you meet some amazing people from all around the world. The only downside is the pay isn't great. Good luck with your applications! em x

I am sure you will have a great time working for PGL, especially in France. I've been to Mimosa and Segries(as an indie) and all the staff seemed to have a great time . I am thinking about working for PGL during uni holidays maybe in a year or two, as the staff always seem to have such fun.

it depends on the type of person you arfe. I've worked Dalguise in scotland, and mimosa in France.

If your into getting drunk, then mimosa would suit, as beasically everyone goes to the bar and gets drunk almost every night. If you like parties, or just having really good friends, then Dalguise is good. Dalguise for em was the better centre, i met lots of really nice people, theres a river nearby and we used to go offsite and sit on the river bank. It was also in a really nice area, with a nice village down the road.

If you have any specific questions just ask me.

Usually they are ok with swapping contracts but let them know asap, otherwise they may not be. It also depends on how long you will have left on your contract if you change it. Less than 8 weeks then they may not let you do it.
I'm supposed to be starting on May 1st but I'm resitting a GCSE so I wont be able to start until the end of May, after my exam but I'll have a lot longer than 8 weeks- I'm going to be working there until September 4th.

i think it should be fine, but get in touch sooner rather than later, because they will need to organise staffing for may when your not able to work.
They've offered me a job as a retail assistant...not exactly what I wanted and not sure if I'll take it. Mine is in France too...north france I think...

still haven't heard anything back, may have to start pestering them again!
Reply 15
don't pester, they have hundreds of applications at this time, if you've only asked for summer work, you may not hear anything till after xmas! It also depends on how many retuirners are returning to the centre you've asked for, and the job you've asked for. I was in catering, and heard more quickly than instructors or groupies.

I'm around for almost the whole season and would prefer to start in January, really I just want to know either way so I can start planning the rest of my year!
Reply 17
which centres have you applied for?

Osmington Bay, Boreatton Park and La Fosca... i know they must get thousands of applications and it must take a hell of a lot of time to sort everyone into places and positions. it's just that i'm trying to sort out my mess of a gap year out atm and would be nice to know soon if i've got a job or not so i can start looking elsewhere, or plan the rest of my year around it. didn't mean to come across moany above sorry!

If you put them down in that order,

they will be looking for vacancies at ozzy bay 1st, small centre, fewer jobs.

Boreatton Park, you shouldn't have a problem getting a job there, super huge centre, but PGL prefer to allocate people to their 1st choice centres.

Fosca is also small, so may be more difficult.

Getting in touch with them doesn't speed things up. My guess is they may still be allocating jobs to returners since they get priority. If your referees have being received by PGL, then they are just waiting for a place to allocate you to. I'll give it till beginning of december before getting in touch.

By the way, what job have you applied for, and when did you send your application in?
