Feel I Have To Lie

I've just started uni and I'm finding that I need to lie to my new friends.

However, there's one major thing that I've lied to them - where I'm from - and I feel some of them are clocking on.

I didn't want to lie to them about it but I'm so emabarressed about my roots. The thing is that they're all from the same place and when they talk in that language I can't really pretend to not understand.

I know that sooner or later they'll find out and I'll be left with zero friends. But I DON'T want to tell them the truth (talk about impossible!!).

im confused... so u pretend to be from the same place they are? or the other way round? So if theyre all from country Y, u pretend to be from X?

and r u living in a foreign country?

its obviously not a good idea anyhow...

Do you mean like all the people your freindly with lokk down on/make jokes about people from, say, Birmingham - but you are from Birmiongham.

So instead of saying - with a laugh "oi! I'm from Birmingham and I'm no chav..." or something similar - you just said "ha ha people from Birmingham are such losers - I hate them all..."

You didn't did you? You wouldn't be so silly...??
