English LITB2 comparative coursework

I've just finished reading Jane Eyre, and for my course I need to compare this novel with another, producing an essay. I'd like to compare it to either Pride and Prejudice or Great Expectations. Which do you think, if either, would be better and why? Any and all other suggestions are welcome too- thanks in advance!
What is your point of comparison? I think essays come out stronger if you think up your theme/concept then choose your texts so you know in advance that they are great texts for the question. Maybe contrast Jane Eyre with a more modern book/a book produced in a different context as this will be an interesting point of comparison in terms of assessing contexts of production and reception. I would also avoid choosing the topic of women/female characters if you're going to do feminism for your critical anthology piece.
