ACCA Exemptions

Hey does anyone know why the ACCA board gives much fewer exemptions to LSE Accounting and Finance degree holders than degree holders from the other unis? Would this affect me much should I decide to take the ACCA later on?
Thx..

thats coz the course at LSE is not very hands-on and practical...it even says on their website that the course doesnt give skills for immediate application!... the only reason why ppl like me and u wanna go to LSE for this course is mainly because of the prestige of LSE...nothin else....in my opinion Lufbra and Lancaster offer the best courses in acc and finance...but i didnt apply no any of em coz...lancaster is too far up for me...and lufbra...dunno how the social life is...its a town! i think ill be happy with royal holloway, or manchester...ive applied to KCL for management as well

yah.. i agree with you on lse.. i'm an international student, so it doesn't matter where the uni is, all more or less equally far from where i come from, haha..i think i'll apply to lancaster, as they have this ernst and young four year degree, which should be quite handy as they give us 18 months working experience..

New Castle has a PricewaterhouseCOOPERS work experience position also! I'm going to be studying ACC and Finance at Durham. Anyone know how good it is up there?

Durham is a decent school. The positive aspect is it has a much lower requirement than schools of the same calibre. However, it is in Stockton, away from the main campus, which is probably the main downside. But what I've heard from stupanico, it is not really a problem as the transport is good.

Although that is true, I still think that BBC is a high grades requirement in comparison to Greenwhich's 180 ucas points offer.

Yes, but Durham is a better school than Greenwich.
