Sounds like you're working with a cheap edition which doesn't have any detailed notes. The easiest solution will probably be to get hold of an edition which has decent notes and introductions (like the Arden (3rd Series) or New Cambridge ones). They'll be explaining puns when they turn up, and the introduction will give you some background on the play, performance history, etc. - probably more information than you want, in fact.:smile:

Puns? Um, none spring to mind. Mind you, this was last year.

Comic scenes include the one where Stephano/Trinculo gets confused about what Caliban is under the cloak when they hide from the storm, the fact that Caliban worships S/T as a king when he is a butler/jester (not sure which is which).

OH, when Ferdinand is telling Miranda of her beauty and he refers to her name and something about looking. Miranda contains the stem of Latin 'to look' or something...
