Hi

In yr 12 at the moment studying for AS:
physics
maths
french
geog

I am hoping to do smth to do with maths phys (maths/phys/smth to do with computing/whatever) as there would be a lot of job opportunities etc with those...

But does taking french and geog look bad as the choices may look a bit "confused"? We here all the time about making PSs, things you do in spare time, etc related to what you want to study...

I thought french is a gd skill in general and geog is different from maths/phys so will give me a bit of variety......but maybe they will lead to my demise. Please note I chose geog INSTEAD of Further maths (thought it would be too hard/too much maths work = stress, etc)

I am planning on dropping geog (**** SUBJECT, only like it cos of relaxed class atmosphere, not intense on the brain, etc) ....

How hindered will I be in doing STEP courses if I do not do FM?? T.T

Reminder of the Q: "How will my subjects hold me back?"

thx

They shouldn't damage your application in general, as you have maths and physics which are the two actual requirements, but that will vary by university. In general, they only worry about those one/two subjects. You're probably best off checking with individual universities you're applying to if you think there's likely to be a problem.

STEP I and II only need A level maths, however STEP III needs further maths. There's a thread here with more information on STEP. I can't say how not having done further maths will affect how hard you find STEP I & II as I haven't done it.
