Hi I’m Sam - I work in the University of Bradford’s Course Enquiries Department.

Just thought I’d make this quick post to introduce myself and let you all know that I’ll be working on The Student Room over the next few months. My main objective is to assist you all with any concerns or queries you have relating to the University of Bradford and our courses, facilities, accommodation, finance etc.

I’ll be checking the forum as often as possible so please feel free to respond to this post or PM me.

Hi I achieved DDM in BTEC sports and exercise science last year which would have got me enough points to do Physiotherapy, but I choose to do an access course in Health Professions by personal choice. I did this so I could increase my biology knowledge. So when I apply this year which qualification will my application be assessed on

I have a friend interested in the Bradford Chemistry course. However, he got 9A*s at GCSE and 4A*s at A level in Maths, Further maths, Chemistry and Physics. He said he doesn't care about prestige and prefers Bradford's chemistry course over Oxford's :/. As a good friend, I am advising him to not choose bradford (no offence) but his mind is already made up :/. I've come to ask what are the grad prospects like for a Bradford chem graduate?

88% in further education/employment within six months - the grad prospects for the chemistry course are the joint best in the country.

Hi

Chemistry at Bradford has some great prospects! We have excellent employability stats, great NSS scores and we're introducing some new final year specialisms for 2016 entry that will further improve the career prospects of our students.

We've recently added details of where our 2015 graduates have gone to our website. You can read some of their profiles here: www.bradford.ac.uk/chemistry

If your friend has any questions please ask them to join the thread or contact us directly. We would be happy to help

Hi,

It will primarily be assessed on your Access course. You will need 30 Level 3 credits at distinction, including 15 in the Biology module, plus 15 at merit or above.

We also assess overall academic profile when shortlisting; your BTEC results would form part of that. However, our BTEC requirements for 2016 entry are DDD - so your Access results are key, alongside your personal statement.

I hope this helps - if you need any further guidance please contact the Recruitment team at the Faculty of Health Studies on 01274 236367 (option one) or [email protected].

Because it’s a foundation course, A-level Chemistry and Biology books will help, but we do recommend the following textbooks:

Catch-up Biology for the Medical Sciences, Bradley/Calvert ISBN 1904842887
Catch-up Chemistry for the Life & Medical Sciences, Fry/Page ISBN 1904842895

Hope this helps and if you need any further advice do let me know
Hi, I've applied to study Clinical Sciences at Bradford and I was just wondering how ex students manage to afford to study further degrees (eg. Medicine/dentistry) upon completing the course.. Student loans aren't still applicable are they?

Hello

If you have received a conditional offer then we would expect you to meet these conditions for the offer to stand.

Are you able to give a little more information about which graduate programme it is that you're interested in so that we can help with this?
