Do you mean young Cathy or her mum, Catherine?

Catherine constantly breaks the rules when she's a child with Heathcliff.
Isabella breaks them by running away and marrying Heathcliff.
Young Cathy breaks her father's rules by defying him to see her cousin who stayed with Heathcliff.

That Heathcliff... *shakes fist*

Cathy also challenges social norms because of her fluid name, at the beginning of the book we see her identity being explored by her surname: Linton, healthcliff and earnshaw. This control over name implies that she, as a woman, has control over her identity.
Also the graves might be useful to look at, at the end
I seem to remember cathy's being both part of two societies, which further challenges social norms even into death.
I am not sure what can be made of that, but just a few ideas
