Which is worse?

I'm living in Spain at the moment and still not used to the eating times..Usually, in the UK, I have lunch around 1 and supper at 7.

Now that I live and work in Spain, I can't eat lunch til 3. This makes me not hungry to eat at 7. I don't like eating past 7 because I don't think it's very good for you and I tend to get a stomach ache if I eat late. I usually don't get back from work until 9 though.

My question is this: Which is worse - eating a meal at 10pm or not eating? I generally eat some friut or have a small snack (maybe a sandwich), but sometimes, I end up not eating because I'm not hungry..By the time I DO get hungry, I don't want to eat because it's late! Sometimes I just go to bed

This is only during the week though. i have the weekend off so eat properly then.

Views please!

well, big meals make you drowsy, so it's not only conveinient but a sleep aide too.

I dunno..I don't like going to sleep with a full stomach. I feel like my food is just sitting there. at least if I eat earlier, I get to move around a bit before I hit the sack!

how long u been in spain? it'll prolly adjust after a few weeks i.e. ur times will change back so u'll have lunch at 1, dinner at 7.

True eating dinner at 10pm then going to bed straight after is not good for you at all, as it doesn;t have chance to burn off and will turn to fat, or worse you will feel very ill or even throw it back up.
Then again they do tend to have their main dinner later in the day than we do in the UK.

What Carl said. I heard eating late in the evening can be bad for you. But the odd chocy craving is inevitable

Well always going to be a time when you can't resist the odd chocolate bar late in the day

Only eating twice a day isn't eating properly anyway, so you may as well do whatever you like.

maybe eat at 9:30ish and go sleep at 10:30/11ish because your body needs about an hour to digest the food anyway, plus any excuse to stay up late...

I've been here for almost 7 weeks. I can't change my eating times back to 1 and 7 as I am always working at my these times..

I tend to go to bed between 11 and 1 depending on how much work I have to do, and how much time I want to spend talking to flatmates/friends and family at home. So I guess eating at 9.30 wouldn't be too bad, but there is the problem of getting a stomach ache if I eat too late.

I just want to know if it is really unhealthy of me to just snack on fruit/small sandwich/the odd biscuite and a bit of chocolate when I get back, or a little earlier in the evening instead of having a big meal after 9.30. Also if having breakfast and a fairly large lunch is ok. (Lunch for exaple - big plate of pasta/some sort of meat and veg/some sort of rice dish, and fruit..)

PS I'm here til the end of May so it's something that will have to go on for a fair few months..

Have a small snack to keep you going, and make sure you have a big breakfast, that'll keep you going until 3 for lunch too!
