Bristol uni...whats it like?

Hey guys so I'm thinking of moving from Birmingham to go to Bristol uni where my brothers studying ATM however I'm thinking twice because my brother claims its so unfriendly and snobbish. (He has a very negative attitude tbh) is this true Bristol Uni people? I want to hear ur sides of the argument

It is true that there are quite a few stereotypical posh students in Bristol uni, but there's plenty of normal ones too! I'd say it's a really friendly city to live in. Despite the union building not being the central place for socialising like it might be in other unis, it is very social wherever you go.
It's a bit of a rah paradise- you certainly won't find the wrong sort of people there!

Apparently (according to a few of my friends that go there) they're generally not that welcoming to people of different races other than white so they feel really excluded in a lot of the things that go on there

This is so not true. I am Asian and I don't think I am being discriminated against. This largely depends on individual experience and how an individual acts.

There are some stereotypical posh private school people but the community are generally friendly!

Eh? Bristol is very diverse and I haven't seen any evidence of exclusion. Although I'm in a course where at least 1/3 are international students
There are a lot of ***** in bristol, but there are a lot of ***** in every university in general. There's SO many people at university that you can't use the 'oh the people here are unfriendly' excuse - clearly you're surrounding yourself with the wrong people! I'm having a great time so far at Bristol. I'm not posh at all but I've had no trouble finding normal people like myself - it's actually quite a challenge to find someone who's the stereotypical posh ******.
