Debate Help!!!

I have a debate coming up and I am so nervous. I am for the motion 'firearms should be illegal in the UK' but I can only think of a few reasons such as firearm injuries cost the NHS an average of £9000 to treat.

Could you guys give me a few reasons why they should be banned with evidence.

I am also scared about the questions they are going to ask. While we were working , my teacher asked me ' Why do people still use firearms if is illegal in the UK' and 'Should the police use firearms'?

I said that the police should use firearms to protect themselves but he said that there have been many incidents were the police have used it inappropriately.

Could you guys give me some questions . (imagine if you were against me)

Creates fear on the streets - compare the widespread ownership of guns in America and the increased incidents shooting incidents + an increased fear of police, events like Ferguson. Compare crime rates + injuries to countries where fire arms are completely banned (can't think of any countries off the top of my head, so Google).

What does your motion mean exactly

Are you saying that all firearms should be illegal
Or that possession of one in the home should be illegal
Or something different
