Yep I know South Manchester NHS trust alone is spending £2 million upgrading.

The company I work for want a slice of that.

I have this feeling that a lot of the money is going to be sucked up by consulting though. One of the Directors at PwC was being rather smug about it at a careers talk before Christmas.

Yep thats where the big money is made but a lot of consultants (like the firm I work for) also employ programmers and developers to actually produce the product.

Also this new EU discrinination law is forcing all government authorities sites to be fully accessible by the disabled otherwise they can get sued. This means a lot of sites been made to replace existing ones from scratch and the back ends often get replaced as well.
