The house where Joy Division singer Ian Curtis lived with his wife and daughter before he committed suicide there in 1980 is on the market (£115k asked) http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....singer-8646583

A group of fans is trying to crowdfund buying the house in order to make a museum... but should they?

former bandmate Bernard Sumner isn't convinced and thinks it might become a morbid monument to suicide http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....legend-8696021

Currently it's an typical looking terraced home without even a blue plaque. it's not ideally placed for a tourist trap. Parking looks limited. Neighbours will (IMO) probably object to anything that increases the number of gloomy looking music lovers hanging about the street.

Strange note: the market for rockstar memorabilia doesn't really seem to extend to houses. Someone bid £8k for the Ian Curtis 'Death table' on ebay fairly recently http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/2093...-sold-on-ebay/

£115k for the house is fairly typical for the area and the estate agent is not publicising the properties history.

I'm sure Ian Curtis would have loved for the house he committed suicide in to be turned into a shrine........ Let the man rest.

I'm sure the next door neighbours will love it. What's not to like?
