I think it takes six weeks for it to get out of your system completely.

It depends on how they test you. If they're testing blood and/or urine, then it will take several weeks to fully leave your system. However, if they're using hair samples then depending on the length of your hair it could show up for years.

Poppers won't show up. They're in and out of your system very fast.

I always wonder why companies that drug test tell the applicants well in advance, they should keep it a surprise, or give a week's notice, then they'd get more reliable results. I suppose it provides a potential applicant with an incentive to stop.

if you have very low levels (which they should be by january) you can get away with saying you ate a cake at a recent party and didnt realise it was a hash cake til it was too late

At least, my mate managed to use that one when he was doing the cruise ships

If they are testing you in January you should be fine, (as long as you don't partake in any drugs between now and then)!
Also, poppers are a solvent (like eg glue), so they won't test for those.

Unfortunately this excuse doesn't wash with employers, otherwise everybody would use it.

You should be OK with the poppers, but the weed is a bit iffy.

Poppers aren't illegal anyway, as far as I know.

Apparently they're illegal to sell for the purpose of inhalation, and that's about it. Which is why they're sold in bottles labeled "room odouriser" and carry warnings that say "Do Not Inhale" hehe.

No, as far as I know he used it with the doctor and the doctor decided it wasn't woth reporting it to the employer because the levels were low and it seemed a plausible excuse.

Sorry, I should have been more clear
