Switching courses

I have an unconditional offer for Nottingham to do Philosophy and English, however I have recently decided that I would like to switch to PPE instead, as it's actually what's more suited to me; I understand I won't be able to keep my unconditional.
Now, I have a number of options:
1. Call up now and ask about switching. However, if I switch at this point and don't get the grades, I'm throwing away my unconditional.
2. Call up on results day and ask to switch, when I have a guaranteed place either way.
3. I can cancel my uni place altogether on results day if I think my grades will be good enough to get into PPE next year, and reapply, taking a gap year. However, this is a risk (I may not get a place) and I will not have the support of my college in Personal statements etc.
What do you recommend?
