Does it matter that I refered to the Viet cong as the VC in my Vietnam controlled assesment about the domino theory, please help I'm panicking

It is recommended that you first write viet cong followed by VC in brackets and then whenever you continue to write viet cong you can write it as VC but its about how your teacher marks it.

Also, it depends on the essay question because if it is before the American troops enter you should be referring to the VC as the NLF.

However, I think you will be fine

Yes, I thought so, therefore you should have referred to them as the NLF, but like I said you should be OK.

If you specified first, then no, it does not matter. I assume you had a word limit, so they will understand the reason as to why.

For example, mine was the 'Roaring Twenties' and I referred first to the United States of America and then simply used USA.

That should be fine as long as your wrote it out in full first with the shortened version in brackets next to it, so the examiner knows what you meant! In my controlled assessment I used all kinds of abbreviations for phrases I used commonly
