300 UCAS points

I have been out of education for a while and I have decided to go back in september and do "CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years-Education)" and assuming I get an A in this I will get 96 UCAS points. Now I want to eventually go to university and do "Early Years Education leading to QTS (3-7 years)" which needs 300 points which I will not have. Now it says on the UCAS website

"University of Northampton will make offers based on the following qualifications individually and when they are combined with others
CACHE Diploma
General information on subjects/grades required for entry: B"

So does this mean along with English, Maths and Science at GCSE C I will be able to get on that university course?

Are you sure this is right? I did CACHE Level 3 Childcare and Education and got a B overall and got 280 UCAS points so I'd assume it was the same if it's a level 3 course

This appears to be the UCAS tariff for your course:
https://www.ucas.com/ucas/undergraduate/getting-started/entry-requirements/tariff/tariff-tables/1201

An A would be 240 points, an A* would be 280 so you would still points from elsewhere.

Hi

The UCAS Tarriffs are changing from 2017 and so the entry requirements will be different to the 300 tariff points stated for this years entry. The link below shows some of the changes

Thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't realised the system was changing.

All the tariff points will change, so an A at A-level will change to 48 points, a B will be 40 etc.

Hi Tyranade, I know it's been a while since you posted this but I was wondering- are you still going to do the course? I'm actually in almost the same boat as you- I'll just be doing the level 2 instead. I've been searching TSR for someone who's doing the same/similar course as me for a while now
