Texting a girl before asking her for her number?!

Hey, if you really got on with a girl from work and a mate of yours had her number, would it be ok to text her before actually asking her for her number in person - or would this not be acceptable.

I'd say she'd give me her number if I asked but I don't currently work there as I'm at uni??

We did get on well though but I don't want her to think I'm weird. :frown:

Much better asking the number first, honestly.

That's smart - contacting her by her number to find out her number. I'm sure she'll think you're real Nobel Prize candidate material.

I think that would be odd. Just ask for her number...

My views on this thread are summed up by the following emoticon and proceeding text based characters...

 GAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You wanna text a girl, then go in the next day and ask for her number face to face? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard

I think he's implying he's already got her number through somebody else, and wants to know whether he should ask her in person for it before using it. It's not that ridiculous...
FWIW, I'd agree with paperclip - ask her yourself first, or ask the person you got it from to get the go ahead to give you it.

What do you need her number for?

Do not text if you don't know what you want from her. If you're persuing a date/relationship, call her - it adds a personal touch.

true however texting takes alot of the pressure off the girl, she can think about it then respond rather then agreeing then regretting it or refusing and regretting

Texting someone without permission is rude and should be responded with a huge rejection.

Enough said.
