I'm 22, I've been offered a place on the Primary PGCE (with Maths Specialism) at IOE starting in Sept 2015, I have also been offered the same thing at UEA where I did my Undergrad. I know I will get on fine at UEA(I know all about the course as friends have done it, i know the place etc, I know how to sort out where to live etc.) but I kind of want to break out of Norwich....
I just wanted some advice from current or past IOE students as I am unsure of whether to take it or not. I have no experience in London Schools and know they will be a lot trickier than the schools I am used to working in, do you get a lot of support? Is it easy to find a place to live with other PGCE students or do the majority commute from their home? (everyone I spoke to at interview was planning to commute).
I know there is a heavy work load, but is the course social? Or due to everyone being so spread out, is there not much interaction or meeting up out of uni?
Any advice from anyone is welcome as I have to make my decision by Monday 9th!
I'd love to hear especially from anyone who had moved to London from a smaller place and had not had experience in challenging schools!
