Believe it or not, there actually is no cure for the common cold.

well, my mum recommended something for me, but you need prescription for it.
lol, i can not remember the name:hmmmm2:
guess this post did not help much, but i can ask my mum and post it later today, if you want?

otherwise, drink tea or warm milk with honey. might help some for the throat.

Also, you might want to get some Strepsils (I think that's what they're called). They're a throat lozenge that contain novocaine (a relative of cocaine) and they numb your throat an absolute treat.

even better than strepsils are Dequicane. They completely numb your throat. The only downside is that if you overdose you numb our entire head.

Yup. I numbed from the top of my head down to my shoulders. People we hitting me round the head and i didnt feel a thing. In some ways was quite funny, in others, frankly terrifying!

throat lozenges called 'tyrozets' are fantastic and available over the counter.

This isn't a cure, more like (hopefully) some cheering advice  I'm studying Med (really hard subject to get into) at Glasgow, and when I had my interview here the whole left of my mouth was swollen up and I could hardly open my mouth (impacted wisdom tooth). It was a horrible, horrible interview as well, so I forgot to mention why I was hardly paying attention and having trouble speaking...apparently they cottoned on themselves!

What was I getting at...oh, right. I was trying to say they'll be used to candidates turning up with coughs and colds and stuff (esp. at this time of year) so while it's a mild annoyance, it shouldn't affect your chances. Plenty of cough sweets and take a bottle of water in with you so you don't have a coughing fit.

Hope that was slightly helpful! Good luck

Yay that was helpful thanks!

Welcome  The upside, which I just remembered, is that you'll be turning up while slightly ill so they'll be impressed with your dedication. Or something.

That, however, is just a theory. Worth a try though!

Eat loads! Especially fruit and veg, get plenty of sleep and keep warm. While you can't cure a cold you can speed up your recovery time.
If you have a sore throat try strepsils and paracetamol if you get a headache. Honey is a natural antiseptic and helps sore throats, drink plenty of water. Good luck, and at least if you give the interviewer a cold he'll remember you (he will hate you, but he'll remember you lol)

Polos. The smooth mint taste sooths your throat.

Orange Juice

Common myth :p: Orange juice makes you less likely to get a cold but does sod-all once you've got it!
