I can't find the Definition of 'Rate constant' anywhere. Any ideas?
Thanx

Does it not depend on the rate and the reaction order?

Yah, but i need a definition so when asked to define rate constant i could just write it.

"The constant of proportionality in a rate equation, value of which is dependent on temperature and activation energy of the reaction".. according to mr. Edexcel.

Larger value of k = faster rate of reaction and means smaller activation energy, methinks.

k is a constant called the rate constant. it relates the rate of a chemical reaction with the reactant concentrations.
 simple and easy!

Thanx guys, exactly what i needed
