A-Levels with no coursework

Does anyone take any of the following subjects with these exam boards?

WJEC Religious Studies AS
Edexcel Mathematics AS
Edexcel Government & Politics A2
OCR Law A2
OCR Accounting A2
OCR Critical Thinking A2

Apparently these are all available without coursework so I could self teach but I want to know if any are really really difficult, and what the work is like for them?

If you know other people who can open the specifications, try emailing the website and telling them your problem.

Personally, I don't know of any A-levels that don't have coursework -- though I'm probably not the best person to ask.

Mathematics A-level doesn't require coursework, hence why it's so great!

Yeah, with regards to difficulty, Maths at AS-level isn't that demanding. C1 is just an extension from GCSE, C2 is slightly harder, and the applied module might be a bit tricky. Apparently S1 is like GCSE, but it's quite dull.

i do maths, economics, theatre studies, english ..and ive only got coursework for english so im ok

Reply 8

I don't do any of those but I do chemistry and that doesn’t require much coursework and with that you can always substitute coursework for an exam, but then again you can do that with most of the courses.

Only my Economics (WJEC) and French (Edexcel) have no coursework. Everything else does, even maths!

OCR Economics has no coursework at all. (for both AS+A2!)

I wonder what the coursework would be about if there actually was coursework.

Probably based on a case study, involving developing vs developed economies or something.

I do History without coursework

Generally there's **** loads of subjects without coursework, or at least you can choose it that way. Even if there is coursework it doesn't mean you can't self teach, or does it :s

Maths is to be recommended if you like it to a degree, like someone said above, it's a pure extension of GCSE, I pretty much learned the enitre as-maths from a CGP revision guide so you know lol .......

I done biology without coursework (A2) we just had an extra exam. I always self thought myself biology becuase my teachers couldnt teach . Other subjects id be lost without the teachers i had/have. But uve always felt biology is an easy one, as long as you put in abit of work, reading up and remembering all them long silly names.

:topic:

AQA coursework is an in-depth investigation on a chosen hypothesis (although our teacher gave us a list of about 30 possible ones which he knew would work well), which is in 3 parts.
There is a section where you use data/graphs/tables to support or refute your hypothesis through analysing the sources, a section where you use economic theory to support or refute your hypothesis, and an evaluation section where you well, evaluate. You also get marks for knowledge and quality of written work, but there aren't specific sections for those.
The mark division is 10 for knowledge, 20 for data analysis, 20 for economic theory, 30 for evaluation and 4 for QWC.

It's hard, be thankful you just do exams

Economics, Spanish, Further Maths and Critical Thinking AS! yay!

Well I did Edexcel History and English without coursework...I think in the majority of courses there is always the option to do coursework or another exam...the teachers at my school were fed up of marking coursework so we did exams!

OCR Religious Studies has no coursework.
