Classical Studies (and French) vs History (and French)

Hi everyone,

The subjects which I'll be taking to A2 next year are History, French and Latin. (Dropping Spanish this year - should've taken Politics instead!)

But in terms of what I'll be studying at Uni, I'm currently torn between History (and French) or Classical Studies (and French), because:

- I would love to focus on a wider range of periods than just ancient history, thus nudging me towards History, however

- I love the modules on Philosophy and Literature which Classical Studies would provide.

I understand that ultimately it's up to me to choose what's best for me, but I would love to hear personal experiences from anybody taking either of these courses to see if there are any other factors which tip my favour! Thank you so much in advance.

(N.B.: future career options aren't much of a priority for me. I am interested in academia though.)
