I think you get them in catered, but not in self-catered. I have one, it's ace. They aren't huge, but big enough. If you're clever, I bet you can fit looooads in.
You get them in catered- I have one! They're a pretty decent size actually.

Haha wicked I'm going catered!
Exeter made me an offer last night (at like 9pm!?) so yaaay. I doubt I will meet the conditions but hey.

Kellywood you seem to be a bit on an expert on here...I mean Exeter made me an ABB offer for Latin/French including A in French (typical offer) when I got a D at A-S level and was predicted only a B! Now why would they do that? Just to taunt me because they know I won't get an A?!

Congrats on your offer  And don't be so negative about the conditions :p: I wouldn't say I was an expert, but I'm currently a first year Exeter languages student, so I feel at least reasonably qualified to comment on this one. Was your D at AS cashed in? If it was, combined with your predicted B, it must mean they really like you to have given you the offer, but they couldn't lower it. I wouldn't worry too much though. I know loads of people here, including linguists, who missed their offers and still got in. A friend of mine was in the same position as you regarding the D at AS, although I think she was predicted an A  She got the typical offer of ABB with the A in French, but she got BBB and they let her in. Another friend was offered BBB for some reason  and got BBC with the C in French, but she got in as well. Obviously you should try and do as well as you can, but it's pretty likely that you'll still get in if you miss your offer.

Haha yeah the D was cashed in with my modules there including a U in one module!
Although it's possible they may still let me in it's a bit risky. But I would absolutely love to go to Exeter! I just wish they'd specified an A for Latin rather than for French!
Seriously... I got a D at A-S level. A low D as they'd be able to tell! Do they honestly think I can get an A? Madness!

Well, I assumed that because the typical offer specifies an A in French, everyone would have one, but it's not the case at all. As I said in my above post, I know at least one person with a B in French and at least one with a C. Maybe they don't think you can meet the conditions, but they like you, so they want to give you a chance anyway. It's better than rejecting you.

So in this thread we have learnt that people who live in catered accommodation get their own mini-fridges, and people who have to do their own cooking - don't.

Brilliant thinking....

Possibly because self-catered people have big fridges in their kitchens? And catered people do have to make their own lunches on weekdays.

Not to mention snacks, drinks etc. For a fussy cow like me who gets stuck in catered, mini fridges are a lifesaver :p:

I know! What would I do without my apple juice?!

Yay. I want to come to Exeter for the mini fridges. If I do recieve another offer that may be the deciding factor!

 If you do come to Exeter and get a questionnaire asking why you chose it, you have to put mini fridge!

Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say this! I'm glad to have found someone else who thinks the same

hahahahahaha. There's not that much room when you divide up all that space, believe me.
aye - 8 people and 1 fridge with 3 shelves.
what would people recommend, catered or self catered?

i was originally thinking self catered but what is the deal with people nicking food? is that a big issue in exeter?
and 8 people, 3 shelves in a fridge does not sound like a lot of food room.
