Hi all!

I'm currently a Health Care Assistant working Bank at my local hospital!

I'm considering studying Mental Health Nursing at uni.

I am quite nervous about doing last offices. I am interested in becoming a substance misuse nurse. Is anyone able to tell me if I am likely to come across deaths as a substance misuse nurse?

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated!

😁

Most substance misuse nurses will work in a community setting, so no it's not something you would come across in that role. You may come across it as a student and as a healthcare assistant though. Most staff are very sensitive to the fact that someone is nervous around this and are very supportive.
