I only feel attracted to my own race. Am I racist? :(

I'm a white girl and I only find white guys attractive. It isn't because of their ethnicity per se,. I'm just turned off by dark skin and some other facial features characteristic of other races (I'm not saying what those are to avoid offending people). With that said, this does not apply to friendships; I'll be friends with anyone. It's just that I am never attracted to other races and it makes me feel so guilty :frown:

No, this absolutely doesn't make you racist. I'm sure there are plenty of black people that prefer their partners to be black. I'm sure there's Asian people who prefer to have Asian partners. It really just comes down to what you're into.

This is purely down to sexual preferences. I myself seem to find girls of my own race much more attractive than girls of other races. Does this make me a racist? Of course not, it's just my preference.

Stop feeling guilty. It is ridiculous that the culture we are brought up in makes people feel this way, you have no control over the people you feel attracted to, no more than someone who is gay feel attracted to the opposite sex.

That's how it should be (in my opinion). No im not racist, im black. Think of it, if your attracted to another race and they have some next tradition you won't feel comfortable anyway. And some parents are secret racist and wouldnt let their own children go out with another race.

I prefer black or mixed-race in my opinion and they have to be from Africa (preferably Nigerian lol).

OP you have nothing to worry about everyone has their own preferences nothing wrong with it. I'd advise you not to mention it in the presence of others though in particular those of a different ethnicity. It is often misinterpreted as racism.

I wouldn't say its racist in a hateful way, but it is racist in an offensive, underhand way.

Also, attraction shouldn't just be based on looks and I feel like this mindset you have is holding you back from seeing people sexually.

You haven't met every black person so how can you say you wouldn't be attracted to any of them?

It's just people, like, you need to see past the physical attributes which make someone a different race to you and just see them as a person. I dated a beautiful black guy, and he was super attractive to me because of a more deep connection we had, not just because I glanced over him one time.
