Just thought it would be nice to round this thread off with a little update...
My daughter got A*A* in her (resit) Chemistry and (first-time) Art A levels. That left her with A*A*AA overall and a place at med school
We were blown away (especially her). She is just about to return to Plymouth as a third year medical student and is loving it. The steep learning curve we went on together has taught us so much; don't believe anyone who warns you off preparing too much: I firmly believe that anyone (sadly even the inappropriate candidates) can learn the art of applying to medicine so use all the resources you can to optimise your personal chances.
Don't give up unless you want to...
