Do you peel your mushrooms?

I have to settle this once and for all- do you or do you not peel mushrooms? I have to know if I've been doing it wrong all these years! aha
I peel mushrooms, but never bananas

Are you just posting that on multiple threads?

OP, I don't peel them. Just give them a good wash and cook. I used to peel but then it seems pointless, especially for types like chestnut which are only different by the skin (well, probably the taste too but I'm talking about looks)
Usually yes. Depends how much I can be bothered at the time.

I didn't even know there was an option to peel them :-/ Just rinse those bad boys and away we go.

Wait, is this some young-person slang speak that I don't understand?

Wouldn't it be better to just browse on them rather than post pointless pics?

I've never heard of peeling mushrooms in my entire life.
All they need is a good rinse 'n' scrub and they're fit for cooking
Why would you peel them?!

No never.

My husband used to swear by peeling mushrooms but I've trained him now so that he doesn't.

It's so time consuming and there's really no need for it. Just wash them well! Honestly, it even states on the packets of Tesco's Baby Button Mushrooms "do not peel".
