Gallon Challenge: Banned?

There are rumours floating about that fylde's tradition of binge drinking has been shattered by LUSU, or the university, or someone who's too interested in safety, or something like that.

Is there any truth to these rumours?

Not heard anything about that in Fylde news or around the JCR, so I doubt it.

as far as i'm aware it's not been stopped.. some american guys were meant to be doing one last night as dave has extra ales in as it's coming to christmas or something like that..

Me!! Well not quite me, but I did that in freshers week! My name will be up there, but as a failure im afraid :frown:

! My other 2 mates managed it though! I managed to drink all 8 pints but didnt quite keep it down at the end for long enough :rolleyes:

Ahhh, the good old days of the Fylde Milkmen . . . . oh n btw, if u think its easy, then just bear in mind that it curdles in your stomach as you drink it n there are MANY more side-effects to it that you can POSSIBLY imagine. . . . . I will buy you a pint of milk if you manage it though :p:

Well, I got my name up there, and I want to try for three in a row, even if Fylde isn't my home college.

And the plan is to do it with a couple of mates.

I'm thinking that it will go ahead. It was probably just some strange rumour. Although I wouldn't put it past our incompetent union.

Only messin, my advice is get it over with as fast as possible coz my mate did it in a crazy time like 90 mins and was fine, I tried to spread it out n ended up worse . . . so much worse . . . . :frown:

well the bar opens at 6 and technically you've got til 11 if i was told correctly last night.. it's 8 different pints (if you weren't aware): 1 lager, 1 cider, 1 guiness, 5 different ales..
this year's is taking place in a couple of weeks so once you're here you've got a good few months to get used to the drinking..

oh and if you're not in fylde.. only 20% of the tickets to go visitors..

What is this gallon challenge?

The Gallon Challenge is where a person has to drink 8 pints of alcohol (1 lager, 1 Guinness, 1 cider and 5 of the local *****e, bitter etc) and you have from 6pm - 11pm to drink them all. If you succeed, your name gets put up around the JCR and you're part of Fylde History. If you fail, your name does get put up there, but as a 'failure'.

jakjak.. if your friend is planning on taking you to teh carleton.. she needs to either let them know she's bringing someone not from lancs or hope you don't egt asked to show a purple card when you go in.. sometimes they want to see it when you pay.. sometimes they don't..
