Sorry for the harsh words but I just discovered that LSE doesnt have any of the sports/societies Im currently involved in, no polo, no riding, no gliding, no fencing, no windsurfing and not even a computing society.

It's not the specific number. But if the OP realized that LSE is a very small university in the middle of a very urban area, then I doubt she would have asked incredulously why there is no polo team.

Imperial has very good gliding club actually, so why cant LSE...

To the OP: if you can't find the club you are interested in then start one! You will need at least 20 members though before you can apply to the SU to start a club.
