GCSE Revision Timings/ Technique

By this question, I don't mean do you write notes, read pages or do past papers.

Basically what I mean is what are the different stages you revise.

My thoughts were personally:
1. Read through all notes to ensure thorough understanding
2. Do Past Papers
3. Read notes again to confirm understanding
4. Just before exam re read notes, and skim through past papers.

What would your opinions be, and how would you tackle this?
[Obviously the number of stages you undertake is dependant on how long you have given yourself to revise  ]

Thanks
1. Write notes from my class notes, summarising them and ensuring I understand them fully.
2. (Only for particular subjects) I make mind maps of topics, or timelines.
3. Flash cards! One side question and the other side the answer. Particularly good for history!
4. Past papers. They let me know what I need to focus on primarily.
5. (Sometimes) I stick sticky notes around my house/bedroom, usually with processes, quotes, or definitions on them.

I guess I start quite early but learn everything quite thoroughly.
First I might skim over my class notes but i only do this briefly as my class work is so messy and hard to learn from. My main revision consists of taking detailed, comprehensible notes from the CGP revision guides. Then closer to exams I hope to just look at these notes and highlight what i don't understand. I'll do some past papers too (especially for further maths-.-) but afterwards revise the SECTIONS that i do badly on, rather than just the question i got wrong.
