i really like a girl, but i dont know if she likes me

i think she does like me, when we talk she smiles and she always texts me first. ive had a few relationships before so i know how this works but i dont think she has. any relationships ive had ended not on very good terms and i cant do that on this one, i like her to much also were in the same classes so i see her non stop and i cant make this awkward. i want to ask her to the formal and stuff not sure weather to risk asking her?
