The moment I think I stand a chance I get rejected and I dont want them to think of me as a burden.

Just chill. You'll meet a girl, get to know her, then maybe a relationship will start. You can't just get a girlfriend because you 'want' one.

What makes you think there are leagues? 
Do you have many friends who are girls?

There are no such things as leagues either. I've been going out with my girlfriend now for 3 years and I'd have thought she was far too good-looking to consider me. Low and behold she considered me and we get on like a house on fire.

There are such things as leagues, it would be very silly to say there isnt.
at least your getting rejected and have the steel to ask girls out, alot of people would be happy with that.
