Was your question asking why you shouldn't use beta blockers in asthma? It's because beta blockers can antagonise beta-2 adrenergic receptors present on airway smooth muscle cells, which normally mediate bronchodilation. If you block those receptors, you can precipitate bronchoconstriction and an acute asthma attack.

If beta-blockers are an absolute must have, then use the cardio-selective ones like atenolol, where there is a lower chance of bronchoconstriction. Treatment should be initiated by a specialist.
