I had a chem coursework task involving enthalpy change and instead of using the 25cm3 of the acid as the mass (in q=mcdeltat equation) I used the difference in mass of the solution calculated after the reaction. I feel like ****, I'm clearly so thick! Goodbye a grade

rant over.

But I thought you had to use the 25m3 (mass) of the acid as if it were water?

I think I used the same value you used and I think it's the right one because I only dropped one mark in this part of the coursework (assuming this is the OCR AS quantitative task).

So you didn't use the 25cm3? Well done on your mark btw!

You'll do fine! This caused a bit of confusion between everyone at my school as well, but most people said they used the value that they calculated.
