Robotics BEng vs. Mechanical BEng at UWE Watch
I can't decide which one to accept!
I attended the open day tours for both. My impressions were that Mech. was very last century and Robotics this century and very exciting, though I'm aware that undergrad students barely go anywhere near the BRL til the 3rd year.
I understand Mech. gives a better, wide-ranging and versatile foundation in all aspects vs Robotics.
I felt Mech was a bit heavy on automotive and aerospace, neither of which I'm in love with.
I'm a bit worried about the employability of Robotics vs. Mech.
I'm most interested in near-future high tech stuff like robotics, nanotech, additive manufacturing and AI, though I realise it may be hard to find work in those fields vs general Mech. engineering.
Anyone with experience got any advice please?
