Hey, I have made Loughborough my firm offer for September 2015 and need help with what halls to put down :O

I will probably be shared bathroom and self catered, looking for the 'craziest halls'. I heard William Morris is good? But I am worried about it because it is off campus, does this matter?

I'm kinda stuck between William Morris, Harry French, Telford and Robert Bakewell. Opinions?

FTR I am doing Web Development. I am very sporty but also love going out partying, what halls would people recommend? maybe tell me a bit about your time in halls so I can relate?

Hi LukeBF

Good to hear you've firmed Loughborough

William Morris is off campus, but is just across the road so in terms of where you'll be studying:

William Morris is here

Computer Science is here

And it doesn't really make a difference on the social front whether you're off campus or on.

Harry French also has postgrad students so may be a little quieter but it's impossible to say because it depends on who comes in that year.

In general all halls have loads going on and it's up to you if you want to join in or not.

Hopefully there'll be students along with their experiences soon.

Im a first year Loughborough student and definitely would recommend Robert Bakewell and Telford (Bakewell being the top one of of those two, in my opinion). William Morris and harry french are both off campus, which isn't a problem but there seems to be much more of a sense of community amongst the halls on campus. Everything is much closer, and if you have friends in other halls it's easier to go visit them/meet up to walk to lectures etc. Bakewell is extremely popular though, so be quick in applying when it comes to it! All the halls are pretty 'crazy' though, you'll have a great experience whichever one you're in.
Have you considered catered? I originally wanted to be self catered but ended up in catered accommodation and absolutely love it. It is very sociable and was helpful during the first few weeks in particular because it makes you get out of your room and socialise with people. The food is really good, there is such a wide choice and if you have lectures or other commitments over meal times then you can get food to 'take out' and have it when you want. Im catered monday to friday so I still get the traditional student life cooking experience at the weekends. Just an idea to consider.

Sounds cool! Yeah I was there for an applicant day and the food was nice.
How do I apply for Halls? Apparently I read somewhere that the application process isn't available until the 21st of may.

Hi LukeBF

You'll get an e-mail in May telling you how to register and the next steps of what's happening and when.
