The PRC doesn't suppress religion, it just suppresses religions that have no historic connection to China and religious organisations that compete with the state for claim of sovereignty.

Neutral on the whole but slightly negative. I've no objection to Christianity, atheism or Buddhism but the state should probably be slightly opposed to Islam and Hindu's (granted these don't seem to cause many problems here).
