Well we must all have heard about the pilot that allegedly had depression and has decided to pile his plane into the Alps tragically killing all 149 others on the plane.
so does this show that depression is actually a very dangerous illness and that people should be watched more closely, and stopped from having jobs with great responsibility?
or does taking the person out of the job make them even worse?!

stopping people form taking on jobs with responsibility simply because some guy who might have had it and caused a tragedy is the same as stopping Muslims from working at airports. not everyone who suffers from depression will go to the extreme with it. the fact that the guy did what he did regardless of any mental issues was still his own personal choice and i doubt everyone with depression has the same mind set as he did.
and if you did go around removing depressed people from serious roles simply because there depressed its probably only going to make them feel worse.

plus if the person managed to get the job in the first place there obviously seen as capable of the role.

No, no! That is a really ignorant way to look at the situation and depression as a whole!

Depression is serious, but you cannot tar all sufferers with the same brush

It is serious but do not call it dangerous; do not attach more social stigma into it than it already has - otherwise we will just produce unhealed depressed-but-well-dressed career pursuers.
