David Cameron has mounted a personal attack on Ed Miliband as he accused the Labour leader of leading a group of “hypocritical holier-than-thou, hopeless, sneering socialists” who had betrayed their traditional values.
I'm sorry but that just sounds desperate. Do we really need this kind of hysterical partisan nonsense? Is that really going to change anyone's mind?

Somewhat ironic saying this, given what Labour's social media propaganda officer had to say in the OP

David Cameron has done an outstanding job from getting us out of the crisis.
900000 reliant on foodbanks.
5 million people living on less than the living wage.
1.4 million people stuck on zero-hour contracts. Workers rights eroded.
1.4 million workfare counted as jobs.
1.4 million JSA sanctions.
0.5 million disabled on unpaid workfare.
50,000 people made homeless by the bedroom tax.
Tax cuts for millionaires, benefit cuts for the poor.
To name a few.
Top down reorganization of the NHS, opposed by millions and record a&e waiting times.
Inequality has massively increased.
Bringing a criminal into the heart of Downing Street.
More money borrowed under this government than every Labour government in history put together.
And many more.

It shows an astounding level of political illiteracy to claim that Ed Miliband is a socialist. He is not, and neither is the Labour party. They've been centre right for years and the current leadership will not change that.

It's either political illiteracy or a lie designed to win votes. Neither of those makes David Cameron look very good.

I agree with you on most things on here but I don't agree that Ed 'is just like the rest', Sure New Labour were centre right but as someone who is sceptical I really do think he's shifted the party left. He's called for more regulation on the financial services, abolishment of the bedroom tax, an end to NHS privatisation, part renationalisation of the railways, he's taken on Rupert Murdoch, the energy companies, zero hour contracts and tax avoidance.
Something Blair never did. Sure he may not follow through with everything. But give him a chance and then judge him, unlike Blair, his heart really is in the right place.
He really is a thoroughly decent person with a great set of values and beliefs.

He may not be a socialist, that doesn't stop him claiming to be.

He is left of the Conservatives, but him and the Labour party still aren't socialist.

I didn't say anything about whether I supported Miliband and his policies. I'm just saying Cameron is either lying/exaggerating to get votes or is politically illiterate if he labels Labour and Miliband as socilist, because they just aren't.

Being a socialist is a compliment to me.
I really do think Milliband is and so he should be.

The title is misleading, he did not call Miliband any of those things. He said Miliband was leading a group of hypocritical sneering socialists, so the insult was directed at the labour party as a whole.

Not exactly the most cogent of arguments but Cameron has already set out his policies and the budget. He can no longer gain an edge purely on his record and on his policies so he opts for negative campaigning at this stage. Crude though it may be, if it is effective that is all that matters. The political sphere is not one where decorum wins out.

Remember when Miliband said Cameron stood up for "Conservative supporting, gold mining, luxury hotel owning, Putin award winning, Russian oligarchs"? Same sort of thing. Personal attacks seem to be part and parcel of political discourse these days.

I agree totally with the above and Murdochs Empire are introducing zero hour contracts
They are already in force. This country is a joke why are we letting these people run our country why? Because we let them bully us and we need to make a stand. This country is ruined by these people.Police cuts street lights turned off at midnight while we are on severe alert. What a joke and then certain cultures get police protection, while our own people are sabbotaged by not having enough police support or security. Also our nhs system is ruined and we are suffering while the majority rich cultures are private they don't care. Then the race card is pulled up,what the hell the Irish suffered and they still are these people are arrogant evil and self serving to think they they are gods chosen people no way,we are all equal this is totally unfair this country is paying the price for there self serving attitude selfish people.Power money Internet corruption tabloids news they tell us what they want us to hear corrupting our minds get some common sense. This is unjust they should be held accountable and why should we suffer no more Britain let make a stance to these bully's money means nothing if you are acting immoral with no conscience.Wake up Britain lets not vote for labour or conservatives the Green party have our interests at heart money spent on public services nhs police council housing wake up vote greens let the others sink don't give them anymore power.Act know before Capitilism acts.
