I am really struggling with this book! I don't know what it is about it but i just can't seem to analyse it or write about it as well as i can with my other book (Enduring Love) or with the poetry (Tennyson and Auden). It's so big and i found it fairly tedious to read.
In all my other texts i'm working at grade A, but on the three essays i've written on small island (I tried really hard) i've only been getting C's and low B's. I just can't seem to zone in on any analytical points, and i struggle with finding things to write about in each chapter, especially in 'How does the author tell the story in chapter.... of Small Island?' style questions. It's so long, and in a lot of the chapters there is not much that goes on.
Is anyone else doing this book? Do you have any revision notes or materials for it as i have none. My teacher doesn't really believe in making notes, we just listen and discuss, but i always forget what we've discussed!!

Hey do you happen to have any help for me with small island? I would literally appreciate anything- we dont learn anythjng in school
