Hello guys,
I want to start my economics essay. However, I am struggling with the ideas. The topic of essay is: Examine from an economic perspective either ‘Poverty in Scotland’ or ‘Scotland’s position in Europe’ in relation to the recent Scottish independence referendum. Based upon your analysis which way should we have voted?
I just don't know from where to start!
Thank you for any help

I would start it like this;
Poverty is defined in two ways; absolute poverty as in definition of U.N is a serve deprivation of two or more basic human needs these include shelter, clean water, education. Relative poverty is when a house-hold earning are 25% below the median wage of the country. Currently in Scotland around _% of the population are suffering from relative poverty due to De-industrialization of Manufacturing sector which Scotland relied heavily and now this is causing Structural unemployment (which is when the skills of the labour are no longer required in the industy due to demand).

and then i would carry along the lines of oil prices falling
