Striking up a conversation!

Can I have some suggestions on how to strike up a conversation with a friend I havn't spoken to for a bit but coz of that needs to be an interesting, decent one only really asking coz i havn't spoken to this friend for a good few weeks and it is a she, so even more reason to make it good not some lads chinwag lol

Right now, all this week is exams so could ask her about them, but her friends will be with her so sorta should make a joke/impress them if I'm randomly approaching (even though I no her) on my own.

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Cheers!!

P.S I am shy not just saying it lol, its to the extent I go bright red with embarressment sometimes!

Ask what she's been up to the past few weeks

Ask if shes been the cinema

Somehow get into the convo things you'v both done in the past - they always make good convo starters...lightens the mood

Ask how is she

Ask maybe, how her family is - if you know them

I was the only one of my group of mates to go to university the year I did. Everytime I planned to meet up with someone I was worried I wouldn't know what to say to start a conversation.

What I usually find is either one has something to say about getting to the meeting place and conversation just kind of naturally follows on from there. After a few minutes it doesn't feel like we haven't spoken in months.

Just spend time chatting about what you are both doing with your lives at the moment and remember all the good times you had at school/college... ask about other friends you might not have seen... normally conversation flows naturally and you shouldn't really think about it or plan it too much.
