Sorry for the totally lame thread title lol. I just wanted people's opinions about what the best uni is for someone who's on the left politically (I mean to a significant extent - I know students are renowned for more being left wing than society generally) who didn't fit in at school, was viewed as a bit of an alien, and would like to make friends who appreciate their weirdness? I've hung out at Cambridge multiple times because I have a friend who goes there but I've only met one person there who particularly piqued my interest. Sheffield Uni seems better for interesting (to me) people. I definitely don't want to go to Sheffield though.
I've never made any good, lasting friends while I've been in education and I'd really like to change that when I go to uni? I don't have high expectations but if I clicked with even one person, that would be something. So yeah. I've been looking at uni rankings and worrying about whether I'll get into a 'good' uni but I think it's important to consider whether I'll fit in at whatever place I get into, so if any of you are knowledgeable about the types of people who go to different unis I'd like to hear from you.
