AS Music Composition (Edexcel)

Hi
I've almost finished my AS Music Composition [Edexcel] but I don't fully understand how the examiners mark each one. Does anyone have any experience in this matter?

The composition is one piece isn't it?

Yes; you choose one of 4 briefs. This year we could choose to write:
- a piece depicting a river's journey
- a piece developing the motif of a ringtone
- a song around the theme of 'meeting'
- a song suitable for some kind of celebration
I'm pretty sure marks are given for using complex structures throughout the piece.Not sure if the sleevenote is marked separately though...I chose the river journey one btw :eek:

I chose the one about 'meeting', but my overall structure isn't too complicated, which is mainly what I'm worried about - but then I've tried to vary in texture, and tried to make my melody develop throughout...
I just don't fully understand what they're looking for in the composition.
I'm sure as long as the texture is varied and there's some kind of structure to it you'll be ok. I think the sleeve note counts for quite a few marks tho...Hope it goes ok!
