Type 1 Diabetes and contraception...HELP!?
Okay, so I'm type 1 diabetic, and was diagnosed 4 years ago, when I was 13. I'm now 17 and have just started taking Microgynon 30. I have the slight issue that I have to be extremely careful with my insulin as I'm extremely sensitive to it. Since taking Microgynon 30, my levels have been generally higher and I've had to increase my insulin intake. I was wondering if there's any other type 1 diabetics on here and what your opinion is with contraception? What do you use? Does it affect your BG levels? etc. Thanks!!
As a T1 myself - yeah, I know I'm a guy - I would ask the doc. They would have dealt with a million other girls in this situation.
