I answered in the post above - work in coffee. Won't put my exact salary, but around the 20K mark.
Do you have prospects for advancement? I think that ~£20k constitutes a rather low graduate starting salary, to be fair, and even then only in 'generic' graduate jobs, not specialised jobs.
I could go anywhere - there is a lot of room for me to progress in this line of work, or I could choose to go with something completely different. But I'm looking to stay here for a good few years, I love it.

Well Heads of Development for coffee earn 60-80K a year. I could look to progress to that over the next 10 years. There is a lot of room to progress within this line of work.
I don't know - but that's not really what I consider a "graduate wage", but hey.
I know an awful lot of grads that earn less than my wage. I think people fall under the assumption that they will earn a lot more when they leave uni.
I mean, a Junior Doctor can expect to earn 22-25K when they leave uni. So I think I'm doing pretty well considering I didn't have to pay 45K minimum to get to that.
That's an average. I know a fair few graduates, who work for the same wage as me.

It's low for a grad, but I'm not a grad.

And there are also graduates on 40k at investment banks. You are earning below a 'typical' graduate salary.
Also, you're only earning 20k, so even if you had gone to uni you wouldn't be paying off any debt right now anyway. Plus, there's most likely less opportunity for career progression in your coffee shop compared to a decent university degree.

Actually I'm not only earning 20k, I said I'm earning a grad salary and you assumed it was 20k. That kinda rests my case.
But...I don't have that debt resting on my shoulders either. I have a lot of progression in this field, and the choice to go to uni in the future if I want to, (as I have good A levels). Right now, I'm successful without uni.
I'd say around the top 50/60 law firms in the city offer grad starting salaries (yes that's first job) between 32-42k mark. If you want the stats check out roll on Friday which has the stats for the salaries which will make you realise you're probably just under the average grad salary
