Hey, just realised there's a music section on here full of awesome threads, which have inspired me to make my own for anyone who listens to music from a variety of eras to share their favourite bands/artists from every decade they know of musically. I'll start:

1960's: The Who, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles
1970's: Black Sabbath, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols
1980's: Madness, The Jam, Metallica
1990's: Pennywise, Bad Religion, The Offspring, Oasis
2000's: Linkin Park, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Authority Zero
2010's: Jake Bugg, Kasabian, Royal Blood

Obviously, I'm a fan of all kinds of rock music, as well as some metal and ska

1990's: Deftones, The Cranberries, some Iron Maiden (I know, not strictly 90's, just put them there cos it's easier)
2000's: Muse, Linkin Park, Placebo, Arctic Monkeys, Enter Shikari
2010's: Imagine Dragons, The Neighbourhood, Chvrches

Don't really have any pre 80's music I'd say I'm a massive fan of. Iron Maiden only comes from parental influence haha

Yeah, some of the bands I listed I got into as a result of parental influence (The Who, The Jam, Madness especially)

1930's: Robert Johnson (the granddaddy of Rock and Metal, music today owes an incredible amount to him)
1950's: Chuck Berry and Elvis were undeniably great
1960's: Dylan, The Who, Jimi Hendrix
1970's: Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd
1980's: Tough to pick just a handful: Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion and SLF, Iron Maiden, Motorhead
1990's: Dark Tranquility, In Flames, At The Gates
2000's: Mastodon, Nightwish, Delain, Dillinger Escape Plan
2010's: Too early to pick anything, but Savage Messiah and Periphery show a lot of promise.

2000's- busted, mcfly, kaiser chiefs, maroon 5, avril lavigne, son of dork, westlife

There is probably also a lot of other artists/bands that i quite like that arent mentioned on here. I couldnt think of them all at the time.
