As far as I make out, just that some polymers are being developed that can be easily hydrolysed and therefore breakdown quickly instead of sitting in landfill.
For the second point, just that C=O bond breakdown can be caused by UV radiation. If that bond is broken, the polymers begin to break apart.
Can't think of anything else really.
