By far the easiest way to gain marks in the exam and the main criteria separating a C grade and an A*, bar the use of different tenses, is the use of idioms. Just adding a few of these words to your vocab help make you sound more 'native' (which examiners are nuts about) and can drastically improve your speech and final grade.

Just a few examples:
i fod yn onest - to be honest
ar hyn o bryd - at the moment
a dweud y gwir - to tell the truth
ar y cyfan - on the whole
ar y llaw arall - on the other hand
dros ben - extremely
heb os nac onibai - without a doubt
mae'n well gyda fi - I prefer
rydw i wrth fy modd gyda - I really enjoy

The examiners love tenses and opinions!! If you say you like or dislike something always say why. And if you're aiming for the top marks, use the future tense e.g. say what you're planning to do next weekend. Other useful phrases:-
dw i'n cytuno = I agree
dw i'n angytuno = I disagree (relate to what the other members of your group are saying rather than just responding to the teacher).
yn ol... = according to...
yn fy marn i = in my opinion
mae'n bwysig bod = it's important that
serch hynny = however
dw i'n credu bod = I believe that (a good alternative to dw i'n meddwl)

Pob lwc!!
